Principal of Liberal Music & Arts School since 2009, Ms Cecily is a world-class Erhu specialist trained at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. With over 20 years of teaching experience spanning Singapore, Macao, and Hong Kong, and an extensive international performance career, she leads the school's vision of nurturing confident, creative musicians of all ages across Singapore.

Achievements & Career Highlights

Ms Cecily has served as Principal of Liberal Music & Arts School since 2009, building one of Singapore's most trusted music education programmes for children aged 2.5–Adult. She previously taught at the Macao Conservatory (2004–2006), where she further strengthened her academic and pedagogical background.

An internationally recognised soloist, Ms Cecily was invited to perform across Europe — in Austria (2001), Holland, Britain and Belgium (2002), and Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Malaysia (2003). She has performed at the highest levels of public life, appearing before China's former President Jiang Zemin at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in 2000, and again before former President Hu Jintao in 2004.

Her artistry was featured in a commemorative CD by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts marking its 15th Anniversary and the new millennium (2000), and she was selected as Erhu and Gaohu soloist for an educational CD-ROM produced by the Hong Kong Education Department for primary schools across the city.

In 1999, she was awarded Second Prize at the "Liu Tian-hua Cup" National Youth Erhu Competition — one of the most prestigious youth competitions in Chinese instrumental music. She was a frequent soloist in HKAPA concerts, including performances at the former Governor's House, and has been invited multiple times to give music lectures at SMU (Singapore Management University).
