How do drums lessons progress?
Drums at Liberal follows Trinity Rock & Pop and RSL Rockschool — contemporary boards with no theory prerequisite; compare with ABRSM in our exam board guide.
- First beats. Stick grip, posture and basic rock grooves from lesson one.
- Debut–Grade 2. First Rockschool/Trinity exams — set pieces and playback tests.
- Grades 3–5. Ghost notes, dynamics, fills across rock, pop and funk.
- Grades 6–8. Advanced independence and session-level grooves, with mock exams.
