How do drums lessons progress?
Drums at Tengah follow Trinity Rock & Pop and RSL Rockschool — boards built for contemporary kit, no theory prerequisite. Compare them with ABRSM in our exam board guide.
- First beats. Stick grip, posture and basic rock grooves — playing along to real music from the first lessons.
- Debut–Grade 2. First Rockschool/Trinity exams: set pieces, technical exercises and simple playback tests.
- Grades 3–5. Ghost notes, dynamics, fills and style-switching across rock, pop and funk.
- Grades 6–8. Advanced independence, session-level grooves and full mock exams before the assessment.
