How do piano lessons progress?
Piano at Liberal follows the ABRSM pathway from Initial Grade to Grade 8 — the classical benchmark most Singapore parents ask for. See our full ABRSM Singapore guide for grades, marks and the Grade 5 Theory rule.
- Foundations. Posture, hand shape, reading both clefs, first pieces — plus musicianship games for our youngest starters.
- Initial–Grade 2. First ABRSM exams: three pieces, scales, sight-reading and aural, entered only when genuinely ready.
- Grades 3–5. Repertoire deepens; Music Theory begins in parallel so the Grade 5 Theory gateway is banked early.
- Grades 6–8. Advanced repertoire, exam-standard mock assessments, and recital stage-time before the real day.
