FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions parents and adults ask before booking their first guitar lesson.

Should a beginner start with acoustic or electric guitar?
We generally recommend starting with an acoustic guitar. It builds finger strength and basic technique without needing extra equipment like an amplifier. However, if a student is highly motivated by rock music, starting on an electric guitar is perfectly fine.
What age is suitable to start learning guitar?
Children can start guitar lessons around age 4 to 5. We use smaller, child-sized guitars (like 1/2 or 3/4 size) that are easier for little hands to comfortably hold and press the strings.
Do I need to learn to read sheet music?
While we teach standard notation (sheet music) as part of our comprehensive curriculum, guitarists also heavily use tablature (tabs) and chord charts. We teach a balanced approach so students can confidently read music and play by ear.
