FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents and adult learners ask before booking their first piano lesson.

What is the best age to start piano lessons?
Children can start as early as age 3, when they begin developing the finger coordination, listening skills, and attention span to enjoy structured lessons. That said, we welcome students of all ages — from 3-year-old beginners to adult hobbyists in their 70s. Our teachers tailor pace and material to each student, so it's never too early or too late to start.
Do you provide pianos for practice?
Yes. Every studio at each of our 5 Singapore branches is equipped with a well-maintained acoustic or digital piano for lessons. For home practice, we recommend a weighted-key digital piano or upright acoustic — and we'll happily advise parents on what to buy or rent during the trial class.
How long does it take to prepare for an ABRSM exam?
Most students complete one ABRSM grade in 9 to 12 months of consistent weekly lessons and home practice. Our efficient teaching system — covering pieces, scales, sight-reading, aural, and mock exams from week one — is what powers our 99% pass rate. Some motivated students progress faster, especially with our fast-track preparation track.
Are lessons 1-to-1 or in groups?
All piano lessons are private 1-to-1, so every student gets full attention from their teacher. This is what allows us to adapt pace, pieces, and exam strategy to each child or adult individually — and it's a big reason behind our exam results.
How long is each lesson, and how often do we attend?
Standard lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes once a week. Younger beginners usually start with 30-minute slots; older students preparing for higher ABRSM grades typically book 45 or 60 minutes. Lesson length can be adjusted as the student progresses.
What happens during the trial class?
A trial class is a real lesson — your child meets the teacher, tries the piano, and you get to see the teaching style first-hand. There's no obligation to sign up afterwards. We'll discuss goals, recommend a starting level, and answer all your questions before you decide.
